The new Citroen Z4 release in May

With a new retractable hard roof as main novelty, in a cheaper version, the BMW Z4 advance in a series of innovations that will see the light since the month of May. The manufacturers of this beauty on wheels have wanted to increase their efforts, giving more room for trunk, as well as its height and width. The most powerful version appears under the cloak of sDrive 35i 306 CV, and has already been presented at the Auto Salon in Detroit. At its launch, all the range will feature six-cylinder engines, although the German matrix don't discard rule out further economic versions.

Competition squeezes and time also play against. It was necessary to think about renewal, and this is exactly what they thought the engineers at BMW, they have been set to work to create a new style of classic Z4, which will release next May 2009.

Among the most innovative aspects of this car is the new retractable hard roof, replacing the canvas, which takes only twenty seconds to open and close. This is intended to improve security, such as comfort and it is not necessary to purchase or put the "hard top" when the weather is bad.

The capacity of trunk is 180 liters with the roof closed, while it's deployed the capacity is 310 liters. In addition to the innovative trunk, all measures  of vehicle will increase, the length is 4'23 meters (previously it was 4'09 m), the width of 1'79 meters (compared to previous 1'78 m) and the height is 1'29 meters (1'26 m previously).

A new dynamic control system will allow to the driver to change the setting of the chassis at three positions in addition to modify the programming of the accelerator pedal, the servo steering, engine and automatic gearshift. All propellants include a six-speed manual box. The most powerful version is the sDrive 35i 306 CV, which can take a box DKG, double clutch and seven gears. Also will include cams in the steering wheel.

This creation of BMW, will use initially, a total of three diferents engines that will be formed by six-cylinder in-line: the sDrive 35i (306 hp), the sDrive 30i (258 hp) and sDrive 23i (204 hp), but BMW don't discard rule out further economic versions.

The second-generation of expected Z4, which replace to current Coupé and Roadster, was presented at the Detroit Auto Show, and will be release in spanish dealerships in May with good prices, from 39,000 euros. Other countries like Italy, France and the United States will have to wait until summer for having the new BMW.

Their prices are: Z4 sDrive 23i (39,900 €), Z4 sDrive 23i Automatic (42,675 €), Z4 sDrive 30i (47,900 €), the automatic version (50,675 €), Z4 sDrive 35i (51,800 €) and Z4 sDrive 35i DKG (54,761 €).

The serial equipment is very complete, and in Spain all units will have stability control, multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, bi-xenon headlamps, headlamp cleaning, radio CD, MP3, alloy wheels, fog lights, trip computer,  automatic climate control..., meets the conditions for be a vehicle even more attractive, if it´s possible.
